She has covered several high-profile breaking news stories, including the 2025 midair collision over the Potomac River, a regional jet that landed upside down in Toronto, and President Trump’s new Air Force One jet from the Qatar government. She also tracks government agencies like the National Transportation Safety Board, Federal Aviation Administration, and Transportation Security Administration.

Alexandra was an aviation reporter on the business desk at The Dallas Morning News for 3 years, and covered quarterly earnings calls and corporate moves for American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. She chronicled several stories on an activist investor’s campaign against Southwest.

Her career in news began as an intern in local newspapers at The Dallas Morning News,The Oregonian in Portland, Oregon and The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and speaks conversational Spanish. Alexandra is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa.
